A Video Twibbon is an animated frame that moves. Your supporters add their photo behind the design and share the result as a short video, instead of a still image. This guide walks you through creating a Video Twibbon campaign from start to finish.
Before you start
Prepare your design file first. Video Twibbon accepts two file types:
Format | Requirement |
GIF | An image file with a transparent area where the supporter's photo will show |
MP4 or WEBM | A video file with a chroma key (green or blue screen) area |
Your file must be under 100 MB.
The transparent or chroma key area is where your supporter's photo appears, so make it large and clearly placed. For a full walkthrough of chroma key, see What is a chroma key (green screen) video?
Step 1: Start a campaign
Go to the Twibbonize homepage and click Start a Campaign in the top navigation bar.
Step 2: Choose Video Twibbon
A dialog appears asking what you want to create. Select Video Twibbon, then click Get Started.
Step 3: Upload your design
Drag and drop your file into the dropzone, or click browse to choose it from your device. Your file must be a GIF with transparency, or an MP4/WEBM with a chroma key, and under 100 MB.
Step 4: Let Twibbonize detect the chroma key
If you uploaded an MP4 or WEBM, Twibbonize scans your file frame by frame and automatically detects the green or blue screen color.
When the scan finishes, your design appears in the preview with the chroma key area already removed. Press play to check how the animation looks.
If Twibbonize doesn't detect a chroma key in your video, it prompts you to pick the key color manually before you continue.
Adjust the chroma key (optional)
If the detected color isn't quite right, click Chroma Key under the preview. From there, you can:
Enter an exact hex color, or pick a color straight from the video with the eyedropper
Drag the Strength slider to control how aggressively the color is removed
You can click + below the preview to upload more than one video design for the same campaign.
Step 5: Set your campaign thumbnail
The thumbnail is the preview image people see before they join your campaign. Twibbonize places a sample photo inside your design so the thumbnail looks like a finished Twibbon.
Pick one of the placeholder photos, or upload your own
Click Adjust Photo to zoom, rotate, or reposition the photo inside the frame
Click Shuffle for a different set of placeholder photos
Step 6: Fill in your campaign details
Complete the Campaign Details form on the right side of the screen:
Campaign Title — the name your supporters will see
Description — details that help grab attention and garner support
Campaign Link — your campaign's unique URL (twb.nz/your-link)
Campaign Category — helps people discover your campaign
Click Next when you're done.
Step 7: Publish
Click Publish. Twibbonize composites your thumbnail, packages your assets, and takes your campaign live.
You're live
Your Video Twibbon campaign now has its own page. Supporters click Choose Your Photo to add their picture, and every post they share appears in your campaign's Gallery
Share your campaign link everywhere. Every supporter who joins helps spread the word.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to do |
"Unsupported file" error | Make sure your file is GIF, MP4, or WEBM. Other formats, like MOV or AVI, aren't accepted. |
"File too large" error | Keep your file under 100 MB. Try trimming the video, lowering the resolution, or compressing it. |
Photo area isn't transparent | For GIFs, the photo area must use real transparency. For MP4 or WEBM, use a solid green or blue screen. |
Design edges look rough after keying | Open Chroma Key and lower the Strength slider, or pick a more accurate key color with the eyedropper. |
